  Our Top 100 chart/plays for 2001 is officially released. Number 1 - 'Funny Boy' by Rubicon, 2 - '16 Songs' by D-Super, 3 - 'Open Up' by Canvas, 4 - 'Shocking Abduction Incident' by Smoothy, 5 - 'Calling On' by Weta, 6 - 'Holy' by Fur Patrol, 7 - 'Renegade Fighter' by Zed, 8 - 'I Surrender' by Deep Obsession, 9 - 'Let Me Dream' by Fiona McDonald, 10 - 'White Trash' by Steriogram.

• 23 August 2001 -
  VISION 100 gets headlines "Far-reaching vision" and a write-up in the 'Your Region Of Success' publication, produced and published by the Manawatu Evening Standard.

• 9 August 2001 -
  On its 723rd day of streaming a New Zealand programme, VISION 100 is presented with a 'Double Digits' plaque by New Zealand On Air, "in recognition of the station's support for New Zealand music". http://www.nzonair.govt.nz
